Last week: Lost to Kentucky Wildcats 42-21

We’re still on the 3-3 teams in our SEC Power Rankings, but we’ve reached the part of the rankings in which every team, except for Tennessee football, has a transitive win against a team higher than them in these rankings. That’s what the one major upset that we’ll get to soon enough did to how every team stacks up.

The LSU Tigers are in trouble. Ed Orgeron’s team looked like they were righting the ship two weeks ago. However, since then they have lost to the Auburn Tigers in a heartbreaker and now the Kentucky Wildcats in a blowout.

It’s not like an LSU team to be so finesse, but that’s the problem with these guys. They don’t look like a typical LSU team, which has always won with elite athletes on defense and physical play. Even when they had Joe Burrow, that was their formula, and it’s not their formula now.

Orgeron’s problems appear destined to continue as well, as up next is a home game against Florida. Then they visit the Ole Miss Rebels, and after a bye, they have to visit Alabama and host Arkansas. As a result, 3-7 is on the table unless they find some upsets somewhere, and with Texas A&M still on the slate, 6-6 is strongly possible.
