This is another reason we only had two offensive players on the team. Matt Corral is the catalyst for the offense at quarterback, and Tennessee football really just has to worry about him, along with the plays Lane Kiffin calls for him, when dealing with this offense. Okay, that’s a lot easier said than done, to be fair.

Corral may be the best quarterback in the nation. He has completed 101 of 146 passes (69.2 percent) for 1,497 yards (10.3 yards per attempt), 12 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He also has 58 carries for 255 yards and another eight touchdowns. Add in the fact that he only has one turnover on the year, a lost fumble, and he’s beyond elite.

Expectations were already there for Corral to do what he’s doing this year after his season last year. He does everything as a quarterback, and even more impressive is the fact that he doesn’t get sacked that often. Ole Miss has only allowed eight sacks on the year.

Simply put, Tennessee football won’t be able to slow down Corral. The Vols will just have to find a way to force him to make a mistake. If he doesn’t then they need to force one of the skill players to make one. With nine forced turnovers, including seven interceptions, over the past four games, Josh Heupel’s team is capable of that, but it will be tough.
