1. 1st half over 35.5

If anything will happen in this game, it’s that Tennessee football and Alabama will combine to go over 35 points in the first half. Honestly, that is a more likely scenario than the Tide actually winning the game. If you have seen these two offenses at work, you can’t deny it either.

The Vols and Alabama have the No. 1 and No. 3 scoring offenses in the first quarter alone at over 16 and over 13 points a game. They might hit 35 in that quarter. It continues into the second quarter for Alabama, which averages 11.5 points a game. Meanwhile, the Vols’ second quarter defense is awful, giving up 11.3 points per game, ranked No. 111 nationally.

Alabama’s best chance at pulling away and covering is that second quarter. If we take what the Vols give up in the first quarter and what Alabama scores in the first quarter and average it out, you get Alabama scoring 8.55 points in that quarter. Meanwhile, you get the Vols scoring 9.9 points in that quarter.

Do the same thing for the second quarter, and Alabama would score 11.4 points. Meanwhile, the Vols would score 6.05 points. Add it all together, and you’re at 35.9 points for the half, above the 35.5 points needed to hit the over. Even last week, with UT and Ole Miss struggling offensively, that game had 36 points at halftime.
