Last week: Lost to Ole Miss Rebels 31-17

What do we make of this LSU team? Ed Orgeron is all but fired, and then he seemingly redeems himself with a shocking win over Florida. Then it’s announced a day later that he and LSU will part ways at the end of the season. Thinking the players will rally behind him, he reverts back to his old ways and gets blown out by Ole Miss.

Right now, this team is a disaster. It’s going to have to rebuild next year, which is good news for Tennessee football since the Vols will face them. Back to this season, though, all the issues that arose with the Tigers season-opening loss to the UCLA Bruins haven’t gotten better.

As a result, this team still belongs in the bottom half of our SEC Power Rankings. When is the last time both Florida and LSU belonged down here after the halfway point of the season? Talk about a cross-division rivalry that seems to have lost its luster.

Like lots of other teams on this list, LSU has a much-needed bye to regroup, but the gauntlet continues when they retake the field. Alabama on the road is up next for them. Don’t forget Texas A&M is at the end of the year. The Louisiana Monroe Warhawks are the only sure win left, so to make a bowl, they have to steal one somewhere. It could be against the next team on this list.
