It’s a battle to stay alive in the SEC West race. The Ole Miss Rebels followed up a thrilling win over Tennessee football on the road with a dominant win over the LSU Tigers. They’ve been by far the most fun team in the SEC to cover this year and still have a lot to play for.

Ranked No. 10 in the AP Poll and No. 9 in the Coaches Poll, Ole Miss is a shocking underdog at Jordan-Hare Stadium Saturday. That’s because the Auburn Tigers, No. 18 in the AP Poll and No. 21 in the Coaches Poll, have two losses that they don’t have to be ashamed of, against Georgia and a Penn State Nittany Lions team that still had its quarterback.

Bryan Harsin is doing the best job of any first-year head coach in the SEC, including Josh Heupel with Tennessee football, and Auburn still controls its own destiny in the West. They’ll be looking to match Ole Miss blow for blow offensively to win this one.

Prediction

Auburn’s best method to win is to run the ball, but they haven’t run it well in weeks. Meanwhile, the passing game picks up yards but isn’t highly efficient. As a result, Ole Miss will force this into the up-tempo, high-scoring offense it wants. Matt Corral will win the battle with Bo Nix through the air, so take Ole Miss on the spread, and take the over.
