Last week: Defeated LSU Tigers 16-13 in OT

Honestly, Arkansas should be 5-5 right now, and they should have lost five of their last six games. They got away with a bad call to beat Mississippi State, and then they squeaked by LSU. Nonetheless, Sam Pittman’s team is 7-3, and that’s significantly better than anybody could have predicted his second year on the job.

It’s hard to not send out weekly reminders that Tennessee football could have ended up with Pittman. Of course, Vol fans are happy enough with Josh Heupel, but based on what they were going through last year, Pittman would have been a welcome addition.

Regardless of how they have been winning these games, Arkansas is back on a three-game winning streak with two key SEC West wins. They are in the top 25 for a reason, and they have a chance at a strong finish.

Of course, that strong finish won’t have any help this weekend, as they have to visit Alabama in what is likely to be a sure loss. However, after Alabama they host a Mizzou team that may be desperate to make a bowl. They have to take that game seriously if they want to have a shot at a top 25 finish to end the year.
