9-1 (6-1). Saturday, Nov. 20. 7:30 p.m. ET. 843. ABC. 820. Salt Lake City, Utah. 7-3 (6-1)

Gambling odds according to WynnBET

  • Line: Utah -3
  • Over/Under: 58.5
  • Moneyline: Utah -155; Oregon +135

This could be a preview of the Pac-12 Championship game. However, one has a lot more to lose by losing, as Oregon, ranked No. 3 in the College Football Playoff, No. 4 in the AP Poll and No. 5 in the Coaches Poll is still in the playoff hunt.

A road win against a ranked team like the Utah Utes would easily cement their status as a playoff team. This is going to be an exciting matchup at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Mario Cristobal lost here three years ago, but he’s got a different, more elite team now.

On the other side, Utah is No. 23 in the CFP, No. 24 in the AP Poll and No. 25 in the Coaches Poll. They could still lose the Pac-12 South division if they don’t win one of their next two games, so both of these matchups will be crucial. Kyle Whittingham’s team hasn’t lost at home yet this year, but this is their toughest test.

Prediction

It comes down to whether or not a team plays better with the pressure on. Oregon has all the pressure. Utah won’t lose anything it’s playing for with a loss, so it won’t come in with the same urgency. As a result, take the Ducks to pull off the upset, at least upset by Vegas standards, in what should be a thriller. The game hits the over because they score a lot.

Oregon: 35 Utah: 28 (Oregon +3; Over 58.5)
