Out of the blue, Ole Miss is looking like the second best team in the SEC West right now. They shocked the world by upsetting Texas A&M last week, moving up to No. 12 in the College Football Playoff rankings and No. 10 in the AP and Coaches Polls.

At this point, Tennessee football shouldn’t have any shame in losing to them in the final seconds. This is a good team, and Lane Kiffin has done an amazing job his second year with the program. A New Year’s Six game is now in play, and this team can guarantee itself nine wins with an easy foe at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium Saturday.

Coming in from the other side, the Vanderbilt Commodores missed out on their three best chances at an SEC win the past three games. Clark Lea’s team could salvage it with an upset here today, but how possible is that?

Prediction

Everybody high on Ole Miss right now is jumping on the narrative that their offense is back. However, they’ve been winning with defense. As a result, I’ve got them winning here, but with their offense still banged up, they won’t score enough to cover or for this game to hit the over. It’ll be the defense that dominates.
