4. Keionte Scott (Junior College: Ephraim, Utah)

Defensive back; La Mesa, Calif.

On Monday, Tennessee football lost out on junior college safety Marquise Gilbert, who chose the Auburn Tigers. Now they’re in a fight with Auburn for another junior college defensive back, one who is a more high-profile player and could be a huge pickup for them. However, this appears to be even more of an uphill battle for them.

Keionte Scott is listed as a cornerback, and he is a four-star across the board. Standing between 6’0″ and 6’1″ and weighing in the range of 185 to 190 pounds, Scott comes out of Snow College in Utah. Back in October, UT was one of 12 schools to make the cut for him, but there really hasn’t been any movement since.

There are two predictions on the 247Sports Crystal Ball, both of which have him going to Auburn, and Auburn is also the unanimous favorite on the Rivals Future Cast to land him. They aren’t as dominant as South Carolina is for James Pearce, but it’s close.

Still, the Vols are tied with Auburn for the lead on the Rivals Fan Future Cast. Also, if Scott doesn’t decide to commit during this period, Josh Heupel and his staff will then have time to gain more momentum before National Signing Day, so watch out.
