Week 3 SEC Power Rankings

Previous Game:

Vanderbilt 20, Wake Forest 36

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“Vandy quarterback AJ Swann threw for 314 yards passing on 26-of-39 attempts with three TDs and two interceptions. Patrick Smtih rushed 77 yards on 10 carries. The Commodores threatened to pull within a touchdown in the third quarter, but Wake stopped a fourth-down play at its 1-yard line. The Deacons offense later wasted a deep drive when Carney lost a fumble before crossing the goal line, call made after video replay.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

7:00 PM ET – CBSSN

Vanderbilt (2-1) @ UNLV (1-1)

Previous Game:

Missouri 23, MTSU 19

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“The Tigers offensive line struggled to protect Cook, surrendering six sacks for a loss of 68 yards. Missouri beat Middle Tennessee State in regulation for the first time in three matchups, all at home.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

12:00 PM ET – SECN

(15) Kansas St (2-0) @ Missouri (2-0)

Previous Game:

South Carolina 47, Furman 21

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“Just getting a win was critical for a South Carolina team who lost its opener to North Carolina and still has No. 1 Georgia and No. 9 Tennessee later in September with Mississippi State in between.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

3:30 PM ET – CBS

South Carolina (1-1) @ (1) Georgia (2-0)

Previous Game:

Auburn 14, Cal 10

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“Thorne, a transfer from Michigan State, struggled in his second start for the Tigers. He finished 9 for 14 for 94 yards with two turnovers but did have the two TD passes. Eugene Asante was the star defensively with 12 tackles, a sack and a pass breakup.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

7:00 PM ET – SECN+, ESPN+

Samford (1-1, 0-1 SOUTHERN) @ Auburn (2-0)

Previous Game:

Florida 49, McNeese 7

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“The Gators surely would have liked to have played a cleaner game. A week after committing miscues galore at Utah, they had a botched snap on an extra point and an offsides penalty on third down – both coming in the first two drives of the game. After that, though, they cleaned things up and played a much more efficient game.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

7:00 PM ET – ESPN

(11) Tennessee (2-0) @ Florida (1-1)

Previous Game:

Kentucky 28, E Kentucky 17

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“Kentucky couldn’t get out of its own way on either side of the ball until late in the first half. Once the Wildcats broke through they couldn’t be stopped as the speedy Robinson and Brown created big plays.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

7:30 PM ET – ESPNU

Akron (1-1) @ Kentucky (2-0)

Previous Game:

Mississippi State 31, Arizona 24

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“The Bulldogs were outgained 431-307 in the win. Will Rogers was 13-of-17 for 162 yards and three touchdowns, and the offense ran for 145 yards on 39 carries. Woody Marks finished with 24 carries for 123 yards and a touchdown, his second straight 100-yard game after failing to record such a game his previous three years.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

12:00 PM ET – ESPN

(14) LSU (1-1) @ Mississippi St. (2-0)

Previous Game:

Texas A&M 33, Miami 48

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“After a strong first quarter, the Aggies came undone with a missed field goal, interception and fumble in the latter three quarters – all momentum-killing plays on the road.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

4:00 PM ET – SECN

UL Monroe (2-0) @ Texas A&M (1-1)

Previous Game:

Arkansas 28, Kent State 6

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“The Razorbacks have won twice by large margins, but the margins belie some offensive issues and with a possible bowl team visiting in Week 3, Arkansas will have to improve, especially in the running game.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

7:30 PM ET – ESPN2

BYU (2-0) @ Arkansas (2-0)

Previous Game:

LSU 72, Grambling 10

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“After scoring only seven points in the second half against Florida State, the Tigers offense broke loose for 42 points in the first half, as Daniels completed passes to seven receivers in the game.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

12:00 PM ET – ESPN

(14) LSU (1-1) @ Mississippi St. (2-0)

Previous Game:

Ole Miss 37, Tulane 20

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“Dart’s first TD pass was a 31-yard strike to Tre Harris to cap a three-play opening drive that gave the Rebels a quick 7-0 lead. The rest of the afternoon wouldn’t be as easy, but Ole Miss still posted a convincing outcome by outscoring its host 27-3 in the second half.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

7:30 PM ET – SECN

Georgia Tech (1-1, 0-1 ACC) @ (17) Ole Miss (2-0)

Previous Game:

Alabama 24, Texas 34

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“The offensive line was pushed around much of the night. Penalties proved costly. And Saban’s team faces renewed questions after losing a pair of down-to-the-wire games last season.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

3:30 PM ET – ABC

(10) Alabama (1-1) @ South Florida (1-1)

Previous Game:

Tennessee 30, Austin Peay 13

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“The wild card in the offense could likely be Cooper Mays. The senior center had knee surgery during summer camp and missed the first two games of the season. Because of his absence, which caused several linemen to play out of their normal position, the run game was stifled a bit, and Milton had trouble getting into a rhythm. Mays should be back next week for the trip to Florida, allowing a new sense of stability to come to the trenches.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

7:00 PM ET – ESPN

(11) Tennessee (2-0) @ Florida (1-1)

Previous Game:

Georgia 45, Ball State 3

Recap according to SEC Network:

"“Still too early to make a read on Beck. Facing inferior competition in his first two starts, he’s made some nice throws – especially the over-the-shoulder pass to Cash – but had a few stumbles against the Cardinals. There was a fumble while attempting to run for a first down, though the Bulldogs recovered, plus an interception on a deep throw to a tightly guarded receiver.”"

This Week’s Lookahead:

3:30 PM ET – CBS

South Carolina (1-1) @ (1) Georgia (2-0)
