Marquez North made headlines for Butch Jones and Tennessee last week when he committed to the Vols over North Carolina. With North, Tennessee will look to fill the void created by the early departure of Justin Hunter and Cordarrelle Patterson. North has a tremendous combination of size, speed and strength and runs a 4.41 40. He could be one of those rare gifted receivers that continue the tradition of “Wide Receiver U”. He will contribute immediately as a freshmen. North also had offers from North Carolina, Clemson and Florida, but UNC was believed to be his only other serious consideration.
