Ferguson has been committed to Tennessee since before the Butch Jones era began. A common misconception seems to be that Jones requires a mobile quarterback to run his offense. I tend to believe coach Jones when he says he will tailor his offense to the quarterback his has and not the other way around. Ferguson is a pure pocket passer much like Tyler Bray. Chances are he will redshirt this season while Justin Worley and Nathan Peterman battle for the starting job. There’s no incumbent starter so Ferguson will get his chances. Ferguson has great arm strength and can get the ball down the field. He has a high ceiling and should see the field plenty during his time in Knoxville. He was also offered by Alabama, LSU and Michigan.
