Tennessee added another brick on Wednesday when four-star linebacker Dillon Bates, from Ponte Vedra, Florida, announced his commitment on ESPNU, over his other finalists Alabama and Florida.

Bates, son of former Vol and Dallas Cowboy Safety Bill Bates, was one of the priority targets on the board for the Tennessee Volunteers coaching staff, and one of the top Linebackers in the country. Bates had been predicted to choose Tennessee for quite sometime.

The Crystal Ball on the 247Sports site, which our own Zach Ragan is a contributor to, predicted Tennessee 100% as Bates’ choice.

The young linebacker has had a solid week at Nike’s big invite only training camp called The Opening, finishing 12th in the Nike SPARQ ratings. T

he Vols are re-stocking at the linebacker position with commitments from Bates, Chris Weatherd, Jerome Dews, and Gavin Bryant.
