Cortez McDowell, a four-star safety from Locust Grove, GA (Locust Grove) announced his top 10 schools on Tuesday evening, via Twitter.

Although the list is in no  particular order, many analysts consider Tennessee the favorite to land McDowell.

Six recruiting analysts, including myself, have made 247Sports crystal ball predictions that have McDowell committing to Tennessee. Six other analysts have McDowell committing to Auburn and one analyst has McDowell committing to Florida State.

McDowell is rated by 247Sports as the ninth best player in the state of Georgia and the ninth overall safety in the nation.

Defensive coordinator John Jancek and linebackers coach Tommy Thigpen have been McDowell’s primary recruiters at Tennessee.

McDowell most recently visted Tennessee on June 22, on an unofficial visit.
