Editors note: Keep checking back each Friday, as we run through the Vol’s schedule, making predictions for each game.

The Vols jump back into SEC play against the Georgia Bulldogs on October 5 in Knoxville. Last season’s game between the hedges was a classic back-and-forth affair, which saw Tennessee fall to Georgia 51-44. This season, the Vols will need to keep the score much lower in order to pull off the upset.

Georgia is a preseason top-10 team and loaded on the offensive side of the ball. Senior quarterback Aaron Murray is a preseason Heisman Trophy contender, running back tandem Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall could possibly be the best backfield duo in the country.

Wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell and tight end Arthur Lynch are predicted to be All-SEC selections, and the offensive line should be solid. Mark Richt  is one of the best coaches in the SEC and will have Georgia competing for the SEC East crown.

Many people are predicting the Volunteers will pull off an upset this season. Georgia is a prime candidate to get knocked off in the minds of Vol fans.

While I do believe UT will be competitive and keep the game close, the Bulldogs explosive offense will likely prevail and drop the Vols to 3-3 on the season.  Tennessee will go through a bye week before hosting South Carolina on October 19.
