Rashaan Gaulden has added his brick to the 2014 class.  It had been long speculated that the Independence High School defensive back would choose the Vols, and on Saturday, he made it official.

Gaulden becomes the fifth commitment of the week for Coach Butch Jones and his staff for the class of 2014.  Gaulden’s high school teammate is Vic Wharton, the Vols first commit for this class.

According to Rivals, Rashaan Gaulden is a four-star recruit who holds offers from Ole Miss, Nebraska, Washington, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt.  Gaulden could be instrumental is helping his future teammates recruit potential targets.  Joining forces with Wharton, Jalen Hurd, Todd Kelly Jr., and others will no doubt be positive going forward into signing day in February.

While he is labeled a Safety, he will likely move to the Cornerback position for the Vols.

Gaulden joins JUCO wide receiver Eric Lauderdale, safety Cortez McDowell, offensive lineman Ray Raulerson, and wide receiver Dominique Booth as commits during this very busy week for the Vols.

Foundation Week, as it has been dubbed, has been extremely productive for Tennessee and they are adding more bricks by the day.
