From Bleacher Report

"The Tennessee Volunteers struck gold with the commitment of 4-star JUCO wide receiver Eric Lauderdale. Lauderdale will officially make the transition to Knoxville in 2014 and is expected to make an immediate impact for the Vols, who have uncertainty at the wide receiver position this season. The Vols hope Lauderdale will repeat the success of former JUCO transfer Cordarrelle Patterson. In his lone season with Tennessee, Patterson led the Volunteers with 1,086 all-purpose yards and scored 8 total touchdowns in 2012."

"In an informal poll conducted this summer, some Southeastern Conference basketball coaches were asked how they attempt to defend Tennessee forward Jarnell Stokes. Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy’s response was typical.“When we played them (last season), it was all about trying to beat him to spots,” Kennedy said. “Because if he establishes position in that paint, he’s so big and so wide, it’s hard to get around him.”"

From The Daily News Journal

"Tennessee athletic director Dave Hart believes his department is back on the right track, even though the Volunteers’ recent results show there’s plenty of work left to do.The Vols have failed to earn a bowl bid or reach the NCAA men’s basketball tournament each of the last two years. Before 2011-12, Tennessee hadn’t missed out on a bowl and an NCAA tournament bid in the same school year since 1977-78.Tennessee placed 37th in the 2012-13 Directors Cup standings, its lowest finish in the 20-year history of the award given annually to the nation’s top overall college athletic program. Tennessee also posted a $3.98 million budget deficit in the 2011-12 fiscal year."
