After several days of Twitter speculation three-star ATH Brandon Powell made it official and decommitted from Tennessee on Saturday.

Shortly thereafter Powell committed to Miami.

The flip shouldn’t come as a big surprise at all. Powell, a native of Deerfield Beach, FL, threw recruiting analysts for a loop when he committed to Tennessee on June 16, just two days after naming Auburn his leader.

Powell’s commitment to Tennessee, ironically, was thought to have been the reason wide receiver Lawrence Lee decommitted from Tennessee. Both were expected to play the slot position.

The Vols, with their current youth, are in still in great shape at the receiver position and this Powell news shouldn’t affect that very much.
