A year ago at this time, Cordarrelle Patterson and Justin Hunter were preparing to lead the Tennessee Volunteers’ wide receiver group, as the team prepared for NC State.

Now, a year later, they’ll be playing against each other as NFL receivers, in the final week of pre-season games.

Cordarrelle Patterson was drafted in the first round by the Minnesota Vikings, while Justin Hunter was taken early in the second round by the Tennessee Titans.

So far Patterson has had a solid pre-season with the Vikings, catching four passes for 54 yards in his first ever NFL pre-season game.

Hunter, on the other hand, has had a rockier start to his NFL career. He’s routinely been criticized by Titans coaches for being “too soft” and continuing to struggle with his dropping issues that plagued him at the University of Tennessee.

In Hunter’s last outing he caught just one pass for three yards, but it did go for a touchdown.

Minnesota and Tennessee take the field at 8:00 pm est on Thursday night. The game can be seen locally in Tennessee.
