If you’re looking for a definitive answer to the question “Who will start at quarterback for the Vols against Florida?”, well you could be waiting until 3:30 pm est on Saturday to find out.

Tonight during Vol Calls, Butch Jones said the quarterback competition is still open and that he might wait until gametime to name the starting quarterback.

"We are still having an open competition at QB. We will probably name a starter right at gametime."

The longer Butch Jones waits, the greater the likelihood that someone other than Justin Worley will be under center for the Vols.

That’s not to say that Jones won’t decide at gametime to go with Worley, that’s certainly a good possibility.

What it does tell us is that the quarterback competition is close — very close.

There’s really no benefit in waiting to name a starting quarterback, in fact some may say it’s a detriment to your team.

If you’re in the camp that wants a new starting quarterback against Florida, well it’s looking like there’s more and more of a chance that it may happen.
