The Vols had quite the weekend in terms of recruiting. Recruits were abuzz on Twitter about the atmosphere on Rocky Top during the Vols’ loss to Georgia on Saturday.

Unfortunately for the Vols, they got some bad news on Sunday evening. Four-Star JuCo wide receiver Eric Lauderdale has decided to “back away” from his commitment to Tennessee.

Lauderdale, a 6’2″/190 lb receiver, was recently offered by Florida, but quickly tweeted “still Vol nation” in what appeared to be a confirmation of his commitment to Tennessee.

Apparently that’s not the case.

Lauderdale committed to the Volunteers on July 14 and bolstered an already strong 2014 wide receiver class for the Vols. The California native is rated as the #3 JuCo player in the nation.

The Vols are still in the running for Tennessee native Josh Malone, a four-star WR who was in attendance for the Georgia game.
