We might be right in the middle of football season, but basketball season is just around the corner.

On Wednesday, all-conference teams and pre-season predictions were announced in advance of SEC media day.

Jordan McRae earned first team honors, while Jarnell Stokes and Jeronne Maymon were named to the second team.

McRae, who spent portions of last season as the team’s point guard due to Trae Golden’s injury, is poised for a big senior year. The 6’6″ guard averaged 15.7 points a game last season, while playing nearly 34 minutes a game.

The Vols, in a bit of a sleight, were picked to finished third in the SEC. There are a lot of folks that believe Tennessee could be the team to beat in the SEC this season.

Tennessee, who received one first place vote, was picked to finish behind Kentucky and Florida.

The Vols kick off the regular season on November 12, against Xavier, in Cincinnati, OH. The game will be televised by Fox Sports 1 at 9:00 pm ET.
