Vols wide receiver Pig Howard received some unnecessary criticism for his fumble at the end of the Georgia game.

Howard fumbled the ball out of the end zone while stretching for the pylon in overtime.

Georgia took over and made a field goal — without gaining a yard — to win the game.

Most of Vol nation was extremely supportive of Howard, but there’s always those select few who choose to be “not so nice”.

Butch Jones has been supportive of Howard following the loss, saying “Without Pig, we weren’t even in the game against Georgia.”

Howard’s teammates showed him this week just how much they support him by voting him a team captain for the Vols’ game against South Carolina.

Pig Howard has stepped as a leader on a team that was in desperate need of leadership.

Alton “Pig” Howard is beyond deserving of being a captain and it’s great that his teammates recognized that in him.
