Steve Spurrier is an expert troll.
He’s perhaps more well known for his back-handed compliments and trollish ways than his actual coaching abilities.
Which is why it’s no surprise that he had a few late-week quips for the Vols.
Spurrier: "Sometimes when you watch Tennessee, you say, 'Why aren't these guys in the Top 25?' They've got great athletes."

Spurrier: "Will be the 14th time I've coached in Neyland Stadium. ... I've coached there more than some of their head coaches."

The first comment could come across to some as a compliment, but trust me it’s far from a compliment.
It’s more or less a shot at Butch Jones and his staff.
Tennessee is far from a top-25 team from a talent standpoint. If anything they’ve over achieved with the talent on their roster.
The second comment speaks for itself. Spurrier is taking a shot at Tennessee’s coaching woes as of late.
It’s all in fun and it’s just Spurrier being Spurrier, but you’d be a fool if you think Butch Jones, his staff and his players didn’t take notice of Spurrier’s words.
