There were a lot of unknowns surrounding the Tennessee Volunteers coming into this season.

One aspect that wasn’t an unknown, however, was the Vols’ offensive line.

While some folks would argue that Tennessee’s offensive line isn’t quite playing to the level that it did last year, they’re still playing at very high level

The run game has definitely improved and Justin Worley has had more than an adequate amount of time to deliver the ball.

The Vols’ offensive line held their own yet again against Jadeveon Clowney and the South Carolina Gamecocks’ defensive front during the Vols’ win last Saturday. Clowney made some plays, but the Tennessee o-line got the job done in the trenches.

Alabama coach Nick Saban took some time today during the weekly SEC coaches’ teleconference to praise the Volunteers’ offensive line.

"Saban: They’ve got over 100 starts, I forget, we added them up between them — they have two really good tackles. This is probably the best line overall we’ve had to play this year."

That’s pretty high praise coming from one of the best coaches in the game.

There’s no rest for the weary, as the Vol’s offensive line will have to gear up this week for another tough SEC battle in the trenches against Alabama.
