Tennessee Volunteers @ Alabama Crimson Tide: Gameday Thread

The Tennessee Volunteers are all set to kick off against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Vols are looking to break a six game losing streak to the Tide that dates back to 2006.

Alabama, the consensus number one team in the nation, is coming off a huge win over Arkansas, while the Vols are coming off a monumental win against South Carolina.

Tennessee is a heavy underdog today (28 points to be exact), but ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit did put Alabama on upset alert this week. So take that for what’s it worth (which isn’t much).

We invite you to hang out with us today in the comments below!

20 minutes until gametime. It’ll be interesting to see how Justin Worley’s thumb is affecting him early.

Here we go folks. As I mentioned in our SEC game picks post on Thursday, I predict Bama wins 31-23.

    AAAAAANNNNNNDDDDD WE’RE OFF!!!

  • zach ragan

Bama gets on the board early. The Vols CAN’T defense those little quick outside passes at all.

  • zach ragan

Vols have to respond on offense. If they go 3 and out then this could get out of hand QUICKLY

  • zach ragan

Vols went 3 and out, but Worley was delivering some good passes. Croom and Downs just didn’t make the plays. Of course you can’t do that against Alabama, but the offensive line is protecting well.

  • zach ragan

Tennessee d-line is not getting any pressure at all.

  • zach ragan

Alabama is doing whatever they want to right now.

  • zach ragan

Marquez North is a bright spot for the Vols, no doubt.

  • zach ragan

Vols moved the ball a little better on that drive, but couldn’t get it on 4th down.

  • zach ragan

Alabama all over the Vols early. This one over before it got started.

  • zach ragan

Vols finally get a first down, nice catch by Croom

  • zach ragan

Vols just in a completely different place than Alabama right now.

  • zach ragan

28-0 Bama, this is worse than I thought.

  • zach ragan

Worley banged up, but he’s staying in

  • zach ragan

    This is beyond rough…..ugh

  • zach ragan

    35-0 Bama

  • zach ragan

At this point you just want to see the Vols compete in the second half.

  • zach ragan

Dobbs time. Couldn’t tell much from his first possession.

  • zach ragan

More Dobbs. Let’s see what he can do!!!

  • zach ragan

Vols run defense is just atrocious.

  • zach ragan

2 teams on 2 different levels right now.

  • zach ragan

Josh Dobbs with the first TD drive against Bama at home this season. It’s a plus.

  • zach ragan

Time for some more Dobbs — Let’s see if he can engineer another TD drive!

  • zach ragan

45-10 Tide over the Vols. Time to shut her down.
