If you keep up with college football recruiting even a small amount, then you probably know there are some crazy recruiting tactics out there.

Coaching staffs will go to extreme measures to stand out to recruits. Sometimes they’ll overwhelm recruits with hundreds of letters all at once, just to let them know how wanted they are.

I’ve seen a lot of crazy things while covering recruiting, but Butch Jones and his staff have thrown a new one out there.

Puzzles.

You’ve got to hand it to the Vols — it’s unique.

Jack Jones, the recipient of this puzzle, is a 2015 offensive tackle that committed to the Vols on May 9.

Of course just because he’s committed doesn’t mean other teams will stop recruiting him. Jones, a three-star recruit, has a list of impressive offers that includes: Alabama, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

There’s a long time until singing day in 2015, so the Vols will have to cut out all the stops to keep Jones’ commitment.

Who knows what they’ll have for an encore.
