Any time something in a commitment’s plan changes, fans immediately start thinking of a decommitment.
Often times those changes are warning signs, other times they’re just unfortunate coincidences.
So you can imagine the thoughts going through the minds of Vol fans when four-star commit Chris Weatherd announced he’d no longer be an early enrollee at Tennessee this spring.
Fortunately for Vol fans, Weatherd is just a victim of circumstance — he’s still all Vol.
That’s huge news for the Vols, as Weatherd is shaping up to be one of Tennessee’s most needed 2014 recruits. As a JuCo linebacker, he’ll be able to immediately help the Vols at a position of concern.
Weatherd is the top JuCo outside linebacker in the nation and the top JuCo player in the state of Texas, definitely a guy the Vols can’t let get away.
There really shouldn’t be too much question about Weatherd’s commitment to Tennessee, just take a look at him singing Rocky Top earlier this year.
