According to ESPN’s Brett McMurphy, former Tennessee and USC head coach Lane Kiffin will be evaluating Alabama’s offense this week as Nick Saban’s guest.

Who knows why in the world Nick Saban has Kiffin in Alabama, but it’s obviously not going to make Alabama fans very happy.

Kiffin’s next job in football will very likely be as a offensive coordinator, but it probably won’t be in Alabama, considering Doug Nussmeier is still the Tide’s offensive coordinator.

Of course, anyone associated with Alabama is likely a hot coaching commodity, but I seriously doubt Saban would have his replacement in town before Nussmeier has even left.

It’s most likely that Kiffin is just checking out Alabama’s offense in order to prepare himself for his next job. Obviously whatever he was doing on offense at USC wasn’t working and ultimately led to his firing.

But, imagine for a moment that Kiffin was hired as Alabama’s offensive coordinator. Next season the Vols play Alabama in Neyland. I can’t imagine Kiffin ever stepping foot in Neyland Stadium again, but it’d be hard for him to pass up a spot on Nick Saban’s staff just because he’s afraid of wandering into Knoxville again.

Talk about Vol fans consolidating their hate.
