Despite the reports from Footballscoop.com, it appears that Vols WR coach Zach Azzanni has not interviewed for the head coaching job at Georgia Southern, according to Pete Roussel of CoachingSearch.com

"From CoachingSearch.com: Despite a report on another website, CoachingSearch has confirmed that Tennessee wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni has NOT interviewed for the head coaching job at Georgia Southern."

Azzanni, apparently responding to the rumors, tweeted out a simple, yet reassuring tweet to Vol nation.

Zach Azzanni is the second Tennessee assistant to be linked to a job opening this month.

Offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian was loosely linked to the Bowling Green job opening.

Eventually the Vols will lose some assistants, but I believe the exact same coaching staff will be in place next season. Butch Jones has done an incredible job of building a family atmosphere at Tennessee and it seems to me that the current coaching staff wants to be there when the Vols reach the pinnacle of success.

Azzanni, who previously served as the offensive coordinator at Western Kentucky, is in a great position to succeed Bajakian as the Vols’ offensive coordinator, should Bajakian ever leave.
