Former Tennessee Volunteers running back Tauren Poole signed a reserve/future contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday.

Free agency hasn’t started yet, but Poole was eligible to sign with a team because he wasn’t on an active roster at the conclusion of the season.

Poole was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Carolina Panthers. He also spent time on the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad in 2013.

The former Vol played 50 career games at Tennessee, starting the last 25 of his career. He amassed 1,883 rushing yards during his career on Rocky Top, including 16 rushing touchdowns.
