If the Oakland Raiders end up drafting Sammy Watkins, then the answer to that question could be yes.
That’s according to Paul Gutierrez, who covers to the Raiders for ESPN.
Guttierrez points out that Moore has been extremely inconsistent during his time with Oakland.
And he’s right.
At times Moore looks like a superstar.
Sometimes you get this:
Other times it appears that Moore completely loses his focus in the game.
Moore has been a productive receiver for the Raiders during his three seasons with the team. He’s appeared to be on the cusp of breaking out since his rookie season, but he’s never been able to get over the hump.
I think he’s worth holding onto for the Raiders, but if they draft Watkins then the writing is definitely on the wall.
The Carolina Panthers would make an interesting trader partner for the Raiders. Acquiring the former Tennessee Volunteer would benefit the Panthers greatly, as they lost basically every wide receiver that stepped onto the field for them in 2013. They also missed out on free agrent Hakeem Nicks.
Regardless of what happens in Oakland, it’s still too soon to give up on Moore. He’s only 25 years old and he’s shown he has the potential to be a 1,000 yard receiver.
Maybe a change of scenery is all he needs.
