2015 cornerback/wide receiver Darius Slayton released his top eight schools on Thursday and the Vols were among those that made the cut.

Slayton, a 6’2″/182 lb defensive back from Norcross, GA (Greater Atlanta Christian School), is rated as a four-star recruit in 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Slayton, as you can see in the above highlight clips, is very fast, very elusive and has great ball skills.

I could see him being a huge benefit to Tennessee on either side of the ball.

However, he would probably be more beneficial to the Vols as a defensive back, considering their recent success in recruiting wide receivers.

It’s all speculation though as UT will be going up against schools like Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, South Carolina and several others for Slayton’s commitment.

Slayton most recently visited Auburn on April 19. The Tigers also happen to lead the 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for the Georgia native, with all seven predictions pointing toward Auburn.
