If you still don’t think Donnie Tyndall can recruit, then you’re probably still sitting somewhere waiting on Jon Gruden to come to Knoxville.
The University of Tennessee announced on Tuesday that Tyndall had added his fourth member to the 2014 recruiting class — 6’5″/200 lb shooting guard Devon Baulkman from Bainbridge, GA.
Baulkman, who spent the past two years at Gulf Coast State College, will have two years of eligibility remaining. He previously committed to Tyndall at Southern Mississippi.
Tyndall, according to UTSports.com, described Baulkman as “another versatile, long, athletic guy that fits our system really well. He can play all three perimeter positions, and that versatility will allow him to contribute immediately to our team”.
In addition to the four new members of Tennessee’s 2014 signing class, they’ll also have forward Eric McKnight transferring in from Florida Gulf Coast next season.
Tyndall is doing the right thing by building the 2014 class with some JuCo and transfer guys. This allows him to have more flexibility in his first full recruiting term, while also providing the Volunteers with a roster capable of winning some games next season.
The Vols are heading in the right direction a lot quicker than most folks thought was possible.
That’s just another sign that Tennessee absolutely made the right hire.
