Three-star defensive end Dylan Jackson, who is committed to the Tennessee Volunteers, received a scholarship offer from the Stanford Cardinal on Friday.

Jackson, a 2015 6’6″/243 lb strong-side defensive end from Maryville, TN, committed to the Vols on January 16. He’s rated by 247Sports as the 28th best player in the state of Tennessee and the 41st best strong-side defensive end in the nation.

The Tennessee native also has offers from Alabama, Duke, Northwestern and Vanderbilt.

Vol fans shouldn’t be worried at all about possibly losing Jackson. He’s a native of Maryville (just down the road from Knoxville) and is firmly committed to the Vols.

If you are a Vols fan, however, it should be very encouraging to see Jackson getting some attention out west. Jackson is an underrated defensive end who has the potential to make substantial impact in the SEC.
