Tennessee Football: Jocquez Bruce Commits To Vols

Jocquez Bruce, a 2015 athlete who picked up an offer from the Vols just a couple of days ago, committed to Tennessee on Tuesday afternoon.

Bruce is rated by 247Sports as a three-star recruit. It looks like he’ll probably end up being a defensive back or slot receiver at the next level.

But that, of course, is subject to change.

Bruce is a local guy from Knoxville (South Doyle) and getting an offer from Tennessee was his dream.

We expected him to commit sooner rather than later, but we didn’t know it would this quick.

It’s quite clear that Tennessee is where Jocquez Bruce wants to be. Butch Jones has done a great job of recruiting players that truly love Tennessee and want to be on Rocky Top.

We’ve said this many times before, but it’s worth repeating. Don’t get too caught up in the three-star status of Bruce. Those ratings are not something the coaching staff pays particularly close attention to anyway. They offer based solely on what they see on film.

Bruce obviously impressed them or he wouldn’t have got the offer.

The Vols now have 13 players committed to their 2015 recruiting class.
