Tennessee football concluded it’s Orange and White game Saturday with a 70-63 Orange win. Here are five notable players from the Volunteers’ spring game.

With an incredibly thin roster, the Tennessee Vols gave plenty of opportunities to young guys to show what they could do in Saturday’s Orange and White game.

And many of them did not disappoint.

The Orange topped the White 70-63 in Butch Jones’s fourth spring game in Knoxville with over 67,000 fans in attendance. It was just a glimpse of what Tennessee would be in the Fall given the fact that so many players were out, including almost the entire defensive line and all-world leader Jalen Reeves-Maybin.

Obviously, Jones needed a lot of guys to get healthy for the Summer, and that is exactly what he focused on.

Still, plenty of guys who had the chance to make a name for themselves made sure to not let that opportunity slip away. There were a few young players, especially on the defensive side, who stood out as strong performer’s in Saturday’s scrimmage along with a couple of veterans.

And there were also some positions in general that stood out, but that was something to be expected given the fact that some positions had almost nobody in the main rotation competing in this game.

The next time the Vols take the field in front of such a large audience, they hope to be beginning a quest for an SEC Championship. But this was a good start, and there were some good things to take away from this game, including a crisp passing game and great linebacker play.
