Tennessee football once again headlines the updates on Rocky Top for Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016. The Volunteers’ depth chart and watch lists lead the news.


Happy Hump Day everybody. The next Hump Day, we’ll be preparing for the first full weekend of the season in college football. And on Rocky Top, it’ll be one day before the Vols’ opener against the Appalachian State Mountaineers.

Yes, it is the most exciting time of the year.

For many of us, this is better than Christmas. Football season takes over our lives, and it goes by oh too fast.

Tennessee football remains the focal point of news on Rocky Top for today. The Vols have more depth chart talk, including a backup named, updates on a rotation, and newcomers.

There’s also more preseason recognition heading their way. We’re about to get to all of that now, starting with the biggest news of the morning.

Quinten Dormady named backup quarterback – Jonathan Toye of the Knoxville News Sentinel

"Tennessee seniors Joshua Dobbs, Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Cameron Sutton and Corey Vereen are among the 400 players named to the 2016-17 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List, which was released on Tuesday.“The release of our watch list signifies the opening kickoff for the Reese’s Senior Bowl,” said Reese’s Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage. “We are looking forward to evaluating these prospects over the next several months in trying to find the best 110 players in America.”"
