The 2016 Tennessee-Florida game is once again in the CBS Primetime spot. The Volunteers will play the game at 3:30 p.m. at Neyland Stadium.

The 11-game losing streak by the Vols in the Tennessee-Florida series has one final chance to come to an end in front of Verne Lundquist.

CBS will air the rivalry match-up as its game of the week, which Lundquist and Gary Danielson call, according to CBS Sports online.

Lundquist has been doing the SEC on CBS game of the week since 2000, and this is his last year. In Tennessee’s 11-game losing streak to the Gators, he has called the Vols’ losses nine times. He also called their wins over the Gators in 2001 and 2004.

Tennessee overall is 2-11 against Florida when Verne Lundquist calls the game on CBS, and they are 0-8 when he calls it with Danielson.

Tennessee has to get past the Ohio Bobcats first, but the Vols-Gators showdown this year could have the stakes at their highest since 2006.

After all, both teams expect to be undefeated and in the Top 25 going into the game. And Vols fans everywhere are hoping this is finally the year they get that Florida monkey off their back, although they’ve been hoping that for each of the last five years.

A loss to the Gators this year would derail Tennessee’s season given how much hype they’ve generated this year. However, a win would put them on the perfect track to win the SEC East, even though they still have three more brutal games after that.

They will have a chance to start the season off right in front of Lundquist and Danielson.
