Tennessee football depth chart updates, an awards finalist, golf, and volleyball headline the Volunteers updates on Rocky Top for Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016.
It’s Thursday, and fans on Rocky Top are getting excited about their team’s first true road game of the year.
Tennessee is two days away from its match-up against the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens. Coming off of a huge victory over the Florida Gators, the Vols are trying to make sure they stay focused in the second biggest game of the season.

"Junior Emmanuel Moseley and freshman Baylen Buchanan will start at cornerback in Saturday’s game at Georgia, Tennessee defensive coordinator Bob Shoop confirmed Wednesday afternoon.Saturday will be the first college start for Buchanan, the son of former longtime NFL defensive back Ray Buchanan."
Dylan Wiesman a semifinalist for Campbell Trophy – Kenny Hawkins of WJHL
"Tennessee senior offensive lineman Dylan Wiesman has been named as one of 156 semifinalists for the 2016 William V. Campbell Trophy, presented by Fidelity Investments, as announced by the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame on Wednesday.The award recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation and is prominently displayed inside its official home at the New York Athletic Club."
Vols Volleyball loses five setter at South Carolina – UTSports
"Tennessee’s Erica Treiber and Tessa Grubbs had 17 kills each, but the Volunteers lost 3-2 (26-24, 25-12, 23-25, 25-22, 15-13) to South Carolina on Wednesday night at Carolina VB Center.The Vols (10-5, 1-2 SEC) led two sets to one, but South Carolina (13-1, 1-1) won the final two sets to close out the match."
Vols golf tied for fourth at Golfweek Conference Challenge – UTSports
"No. 22 Tennessee tied for fourth place after shooting a final round score of 298 on the Fazio Course (par 72, 6,261 yards) at the Golfweek Conference Challenge on Wednesday.The Volunteers finished the tournament with a 54-hole score of 881, carding their best round of 290 on Tuesday. The team shot 293 in the first round."
