There are lots of talented in-state defensive linemen for Tennessee football to focus on for 2018, but the Vols also expanding their reach at the position.
Butch Jones and his staff offered a scholarship to three-star 2018 defensive tackle Tramel Walthour. Walthour tweeted about the offer Tuesday evening.

Coming out of Liberty County High School in Hinesville, Ga., Walthour is listed as a three-star on Rivals.
At 6’4″ 275 pounds, he is already a pretty decent size for defensive tackle considering the fact that the has another year of high school left.
Here is a look at some of his highlights from his junior year.
As you can see, Walthour is a rare commodity given his diversity. Those highlights showed him lining up at defensive tackle, defensive end, and even offensive line.
Understanding the nuances of all those positions gives him a huge advantage, and it would make him a huge pickup for Tennessee football, even if he is indeed only a three-star.
Other schools offering Walthour include the Georgia Bulldogs, Auburn Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Arkansas Razorbacks, Kansas State Wildcats, Purdue Boilermakers, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
However, the 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions suggest he is an overwhelming favorite to stay at home and go to Georgia.
As a result, Butch Jones and co. have a lot of work to do if they want to steal this guy. But perhaps they could work some magic, especially with new Tennessee football defensive line coach Brady Hoke.
Currently, the Vols have only one defensive lineman committed for the 2018 class, four-star defensive tackle Brent Lawless out of Nashville Christian School in Nashville, Tenn.
