Watch the NFL’s video of Kansas City safety Eric Berry after the former Tennessee Volunteers star was named the No. 13 ranked player in the league.

Chiefs star Eric Berry was recently ranked the No. 13 best player in the 2017 NFL Top 100. And now, there’s a video explaining why for the Vols legend.

Berry, who has been with the Chiefs since his pro career began in 2010, is a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time First Team All-Pro player.

The only two years he did not get any awards were 2011, when he missed the whole season due to injury, and 2014, when his season was cut short due to his Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis.

Here’s the NFL’s video on Berry as the No. 13 ranked player for 2017.

Of course, it’s crazy to think about that last year he was on the chopping block among the Chiefs’ stars. At least that’s how the media played it.

Whether or not he would be the guy they keep was up for debate. However, after inking him to the best deal for any safety in the league earlier this year, it was clear that the Chiefs still valued him.

And the league values him too.

It’s enough that Berry’s a superstar who overcame lymphoma to get back out on the field. What adds to it is his character and leadership.

Tennessee football fans saw that from the moment he set foot on campus in 2007.

Now, he has carried that into the NFL and served as an inspiration for numerous fans. And that’s why it wasn’t controversial for the Chiefs to lock him it at age 28 to a six-year deal.

The guy is a star that fans love, and he also has no flaws in his game.
