Letter From the Editor: Get InVOLved with All For Tennessee

facebooktwitterreddit

The last couple days, we have been focused on building up our base of articles and getting our bearings on what we would like to do on a weekly basis. Now comes the part where we really want to push for community on this site. On that note, I wanted to share ways that you can get involved on our site. After all, our main goal is to create a community for Volunteers by Volunteers (FVBV). So here are the ways you can get involved:

1.) Social Media

We are on Facebook and Twitter. The Facebook fan page is where we can communicate to all of our fans about different things, whether it’s stuff on the site, contests, or just talking about the Vols. Follow @allfortennessee on twitter. I’m always tweeting during games, and throughout the day and always love to hear other people’s opinion and to build relationships with other fans out there.

2.) Comment

Discussion starts with comments on posts. I heavily encourage comments because that’s how you share your opinion on what you’re reading. And instead of just being a person who reads and receives the content, you become involved with it. And the more you comment on articles, the more we become acquainted with you as our readers. Here’s how our comment system works (this explanation came from our friends at www.thehuskyhaul.com

It looks like this, at the bottom of every post:

Let me explain it to you:

  1. First- type in your comment and click “post as” and then a new window will open and  you will have a couple of options. It will look like this:
  2. If you have a Twitter, Google (Gmail, Google+, Youtube, etc.), Facebook, Linked-In, or Open-ID account you can simply login using that account that is already setup. HOWEVER, there are some you that will not want to or cannot do this because you don’t want to use your account or you don’t have any of those accounts. In that case proceed to bullet number 2.
  3. Create a LiveFyre account. This is really simple and doesn’t sell your info to the world.
  4. When creating a LiveFyre account; simply create a username and password and give them your email. That’s it! If you want to type in your website or name you can do that also but it is not required. Here is what the create a Livefyre screen looks like:
  5. Then simply, post your comment. And if you have “cookies” enabled in your browser you won’t even need to remember this information.

That is all there is to it. Feel free to comment away! Agree, disagree, give a different opinion, give a new scoop, say “Go Dawgs!”, etc. Enjoy this ability to comment.

  • NOTE: If you do use your Facebook or Twitter as your login—IT WILL NOT POST TO YOUR FEED UNLESS YOU INDICATE YOU WANT THAT.

3.) Frequent the Site
The best way to stay in touch with the community and the site is to check back here everyday. It is our goal to have fresh content daily and we strive to maintain that quantity with a certain level of quality.4.) Join the Fight
If you haven’t visited the Join the Fight page yet, please do. It is all about how you can submit your writing as a guest contributor on the site.

5.) Share us with your friends
The best way to spread the word about our site is through you guys. So if you like us and what we do, share it. Whether it’s on Facebook, retweeting on twitter, or just talking about the site, it’s all very much appreciated and serves to spread the word about our community here at All For Tennessee
I want to say thank you to all of our readership, whether you’re a constant subscriber, occasional reader, or totally new. The reason we do what we do is for our readers, you will always be the most important element on the site, and I’m very thankful for all of you. Now I encourage you to get inVolved!

VFL,

Sam Scott
