The Tennessee Volunteers will kick off the 2013 season on Friday in Las Vegas against UNLV.  Senior Zach Godley is likely to start the first game for the Vols.

The 2013 Vols will have plenty of trials and tribulations along the way as they are bringing 21 new players into the program, including 18 freshmen. It’s very likely that you’ll see head coach Dave Serrano play with different lineups, trying to find what works.  There’s pretty much a battle going on at every position.

Tennessee has ten freshmen pitchers on the roster, which will create a great challenge for Serrano.  There’s endless possibilities for the coaching staff, and the way they’ll use their depth.

The first pitch Friday night is scheduled for 9:05 PM EST.  Tennessee and UNLV will then play a double header on Saturday, before wrapping up the series on Sunday.  The Vols will then return home next Friday, February 22nd, and begin a three game series against Arizona State at Lindsey Nelson stadium.

The Vols have six game scheduled to be show nationally this season.
