Lady Vols Top Auburn 83-61

The Lady Vols extended their winning streak to four games on Thursday night, beating Auburn 83-61 in Knoxville. Tennessee beat Auburn for the second time this season, improving to 21-5 overall and 12-1 in the conference.
Meighan Simmons scored a game high 24 points, leading the Lady Vols in scoring for the third game in a row. All five starters scored in double figures for Tennessee as well.
Tennessee opened the game on a 19-2 run, the game was never in doubt.
Auburn shot well from three point range, the Lady Tigers hit 8 of 17 attempts, but failed to convert on 7 of their 12 free throw attempts. The Lady Vols hit 9 of 20 three point attempts, and converted on all but one of their free throw attempts.
With the loss Auburn falls to 14-12 overall and 3-10 in the SEC.
The Lady Vols have three games remaining on their schedule. They head next to Fayetteville to take on Arkansas on Sunday. Arkansas is 17-9 overall and 5-8 in the SEC. They are coming off a loss on Thursday to Georgia 66-34. This is the only meeting between the two teams this season.
Tennessee and Arkansas will tip off at 2:00 PM EST on Sunday at Bud Walton Arena. The game will be broadcast on the SEC network.
