Weekend Preview: Tennessee Volunteer Athletics

Happy Friday! The weekend is upon us and that means it’s time to take a look at what’s going on this weekend with Tennessee athletics.

Baseball

Tennessee will be looking to right the ship, after dropping three of four in Las Vegas against UNLV last weekend. Tennessee will return home this weekend to take on Arizona State. The Sun Devils opened their season against Bethune-Cookman, and won two of three. Arizona State leads the all-time series 11-1, the two teams last played during the 2005 season.

Friday: UT- RHP Zach Godley (0-0, 9.00) ASU- RHP Trevor Williams (0-0, 3.60)

Saturday UT- RHP Aaron Quillen (0-0, 1.80) ASU- LHP Adam McCreery (0-0 12.00)

Sunday UT- LHP Andy Cox (1-0, 4.50) ASU- LHP Ryan Kellogg (1-0, 0.00)

Softball

The Lady Vols started their weekend early with a 7-0 win over Long Beach State.  The Lady Vols are participating in the Mary Nutter collegiate classic in Cathedral City, CA.

Friday

Tennessee VS Northwestern 4:00 PM EST

Tennessee VS UCLA 6:30 PM EST

Saturday 

Tennessee VS UC Santa Barbara 11:00 PM EST

Women’s Basketball

The Lady Vols are riding a four game winning streak going into their game on Sunday against Arkansas.  Meighan Simmons has the led the Lady Vols in scoring the past three games.  The Lady Vols are 21-5 overall and 12-1 in the conference.  This will be their only game of the year against Arkansas.  Tennessee is coming off a win over Auburn on Thursday night.

Tennessee and Arkansas take the floor at 2:00 PM EST on Sunday, the game will be shown on the SEC network.

Men’s Basketball

Tennessee will look to keep their winning streak alive when they travel to College Station on Saturday.  The Vols are set to take on Texas A&M and hope to continue building their NCAA tournament resume.  We previewed the game for you that you can check out here.

Tennessee and Texas A&M tip off at 4:00 PM EST and can be seen on the SEC network.
