Lady Vols Keep It Going Against Arkansas, Winning 60-54

The Lady Vols extended their winning streak to five with a 60-54 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Sunday.

Tennessee found themselves down by eleven early in the second half, before going on a 11-2 run to take the lead. The Razorbacks closed the Volunteer lead to one with just over a minute to go, but couldn’t take the lead back.

Meighan Simmons led the Lady Vols in scoring for the fifth game in a row, scoring 18 points. Simmons also added 7 points and converted on 3 of her 7 three point attempts. Simmons leads the SEC in scoring.

Taber Spani contributed 14 points, and Bashaara Graves added 11 points for the Lady Vols.

Quistelle Williams led Arkansas with 15 points.

The Lady Vols improved to 22-5 overall, and 13-1 in conference play. The Razorbacks fell to 17-10 overall, and 5-9 in conference play.

Tennessee will return home on Thursday to take on the 10th ranked Texas A&M Aggies.

The Lady Vols have a tough finish to their season.  After taking on the Aggies they head to Lexington to take on the 8th ranked Kentucky Wildcats in the regular season finale for both teams.

Tennessee and Texas A&M tip off at 7:00 pm est on Thursday night at Thompson Boling arena.
