Our good friends over at All Cougd Up are continuing their breakdowns of high school prospects. This time around they’re focusing on 4-star WR Josh Malone from Gallatin, TN.
Malone has been offered by Tennessee as well as several other schools including: Auburn, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Virginia Tech among others.
Malone is 6’2″/190 and runs a 4.43 in the 40 yard dash. He’s being recruited to Tennessee by Tommy Thigpen.
The Volunteers lost nearly all of their production at the wide receiver position last year. Butch Jones is furiously recruiting wide receivers to make up for the loss. This past signing day the Vols signed several quality receivers including Marquez North, Paul Harris, Ryan Jenkins and Josh Smith.
"From All Cougd Up: When watching Malone’s highlight film I noticed quite a few good things that he can do. He has the ability to create separation down-field between him and the corner and go up and get the ball at its highest point when the corner is close to him. With the height advantage that he has as well as his leaping ability he is fully capable of making those catches that the Cougs have not been able to make in the games after Marquess Wilson left."
