On Tuesday evening the Volunteers received their 10th commitment to their 2014 class when tight end Daniel Helm verbally committed.
Helm is a four-star tight end from Chatham, IL (Glenwood) that was recruited to Tennessee by tight ends coach Mark Elder.
The newest Vol commit stands 6’4″ and weighs 225.
Judging from Helm’s highlight tape he’s an athletic tight end that catches the ball well and is a very capable blocker. He has good leaping ability and is able to catch the ball over defenders in traffic.
Helm was offered by the Volunteers on January 29th and took an unofficial visit to Tennessee on April 6th according to 247Sports. Helm was considered a strong Michigan lean, but was predicted to commit to Tennessee by Evan Flood, who covers the Wisconsin Badgers for 247Sports. The Badgers were the latest team to offer Helm
Aside from Helm’s offers from Tennessee and Wisconsin the young tight end also holds notable offers from Arkansas, Michigan, Nebraska, Ole Miss and Virginia Tech among others.
