It’s always a big deal when Peyton Manning comes back to Knoxville.
When Peyton Manning comes back to break down film with the coaching staff, well it’s not something you would’ve envisioned happening in the past few years.
To see Manning come back to Tennessee and interact with a coaching staff full of faces that have no connection to him is an amazing feat for Butch Jones.
Graduate assistant Larry Knight said of the staff’s time with Manning:
"It wasn’t like talking to a quarterback, it was more like talking to a coach."
Offensive graduate assistant Cody Kempt had similar sentiments that he shared:
"It’s been a great opportunity to be able to listen to the face of Tennessee football talk, being a young quarterback coach in training. It was really and honor and blessing to hear everything that Peyton Manning said."
Manning went over his week 16 game plan with the staff and discussed his use of the no huddle offense.
Peyton is certainly no stranger to the up-tempo ways of Butch Jones’ offense. Manning has always ran a no-huddle offense, often changing the play at the line of scrimmage based on the look the defense is giving him.
